Support
Set up in four steps.
1. Open Safari settings
On iOS 18 or later, open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. On iOS 17, open Settings → Safari → Extensions.
2. Open MapLink for Safari
In Safari settings, choose Extensions, then select MapLink for Safari.
3. Enable the extension
Turn on Allow Extension.
4. Allow both websites
Set both google.com and maps.google.com to Allow.
Test with Apple Park
Return to MapLink for Safari and tap Test Link, or paste the following URL directly into Safari:
https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Apple+Park
If tapping the link opens another app instead of Safari, copy the fixed URL and paste it directly into Safari. The extension runs only in Safari.
Supported links
- Google Maps search links with a readable place query
- Full addresses
- Explicit latitude and longitude pairs
Links intentionally left unchanged
- Directions and route links
- Place ID-only links and Plus Codes
- Short links and ordinary Google pages
- Invalid coordinates or any uncertain destination
